MicroMD is a health IT software company, founded in 1982. Presently, the company has around 51-200 employees. Being in the market for over 35 years, MicroMD is serving over 14,000 physicians with its cloud-based products and services.
MicroMD has Electronic Health Record (EHR), Practice Management (PM) and Medical Billing Services as their main offerings. MicroMD’s EHR comes equipped with various features such as e-Prescription, Customized Reporting and E/M Coding. Practice Management Software offers options for scheduling appointments, managing patient data management and medical billing. MicroMD also offers specialty-focused EHR for eight major specialties i.e. Cardiology, Dermatology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Ob-Gyn, Pediatrics, Primary Care and Urology.
Although MicroMD takes into account only a handful of specialties in its specialty EHR, it does an excellent job in handling it. MicroMD products are pretty easy to learn and use. The reporting tools allow the providers to generate customized financial reports which help them to check their RCM. Being a cloud-based solution, MicroMD is relatively inexpensive to implement as well. In terms of certifications, MicroMD is HIPPA Compliant, 2015 Edition ONC Health IT Module Certified, 2014 Edition Complete Ambulatory EHR ONC Health IT Certified, Surescripts White Coat of Quality (2016) and Surescripts Certified. In terms of Awards, MicroMD has been constantly ranked in the Black Book’s top 20 among different categories and has been mentioned in the Top 20 Best of KLAS Awards too.

I have seen many ehr vendor’s demonstration before joining MicroMD. It was difficult process because we are two specialty practice and we need a system which is flexible and adaptable for both for us. Now it’s been almost over 3 years we are using this application and we find it very user friendly and helpful for our practice. We are able to generate multiple financial reports which is extremely helpful.
Annual support and maintenance is quite costly. The training fees for per hour is also too high. If this could be taken low it would be a very easy to go system for every practitioner.

The EHR is very easy to use and the customization for each templates makes it very adaptable and user friendly. We can use the system in multiple location which is very good for big practice. The company also provide features as per user feedback.
Customer service team is quite slow. Any simple issue takes a whole day which decrease the work efficiency.

I can customized the charts and patient demographic without any support team or pay extra fees. Easily build templates for each and every different specialty is available according to the need. We as a hospital are subspecialist don’t required any specific template for our record. MicroMD versatile templates and customizable function ability make our work very easy daily routine work. The system is web based to it is very easy to manage through multiple locations.
The system run on internet explorer so sometimes it is very slow and difficult to navigate throughout the system. Other than we are very satisfied with this vendor.

The flexible task management help to manage my work load. Clinical dashboard is a quick way to see my patient information with customized templates.
The system is very pathetic. The simplest task takes around 11 CLICKS to be done. Lots of time waste. Transition from ICD 9 to 10 is the worst thing we suffer from. I cannot minimize the open screen to see other information in patient chart.

Overall, the software has many good but limited functions but it is very difficult to learn and understand.
The system is very outdated and one dimensional. There is no ability to make changes in data. Dropdown menu with no ability to see past patient information history makes more difficult to use.
